 Educational Trip- Iran 2015

Islamic Thought led an educational youth trip to Iran from the UK. The itinerary included visits to Qom, Mashhad, Tehran and Isfahan. Photos from the trip can be viewed here.


Nahjul Balagha Seminar- Iran 2015

Islamic Thought regularly holds a writing competition in Hawzas of Qum and Mashad on various topics from the Nahjul Balagha. The prizes for this year's competition were awarded during a seminar in Madrassa-e-Imam Khomeini on 4th August. The guest speaker was Ayatullah Syed Jamaaludeen Deenparwar, the head of the International Nahjul Balagha Foundation. Click here for pictures from the event.


Nahjul Balagha Conference 2013

Islamic Thought organised its 2nd Nahjul Balagha Conference on Sunday 29th September 2013 in Peterborough, UK. Distinguished scholars presented their papers on varying aspects of Nahjul Balagha.

Boys Summer Camp 2013

Islamic Thought once again organised a youth summer camp for boys aged 16-21. Inspiring scholars shared their knowledge through a range of tutorials and lectures, whilst the boys also participated in several leisure activities.


Nahjul Balagha Publication- Second Edition

Islamic Thought has recently published the second edition of the English translation of Nahjul Balagha, from a collection of present English translations. The book is available in our online bookstore.


Nahjul Balagha Conference

New English Nahjul Balagha Publication

Islamic Thought recently published an English translation of Nahjul Balagha, from a collection of present English translations. The numbering of the sections are according to the Urdu translation by Mufti Jafar Hussain Marhoom. The book will be for sale soon in our online bookstore.



Iran Trip for Girls, June 2012

Islamic Thought organised a three-week educational trip to Iran for sisters who are university students or professionals. The itinerary included visits to Tehran, Qom and Mashhad.



Writing Competition Results

Islamic Thought held its 2nd Annual Youth Writing Competition in Muharram 1433 AH. Congratulations to all who participated. Selected entries will be published soon on the website. The winners are: 1st - Syeda Zahra (Canada), 2nd - Shabana Walji (UK), 3rd - Ibad Zaidi (Canada). Well done!



Lady Zainab (a.s.) Weekend Workshop

A 2-day workshop for girls was held at Husaini Islamic Centre,  Peterborough on 31st December 2011 and 1st January 2012. By the grace of Allah, the event was a huge success. The girls benefited greatly from the inspiring lectures, group activities and azadari programme.


Writing Competition Muharram 2010

The winners of the 1st Writing Competition for youth were announced. Congratulations to Rumina Hassan, Shabana Walji and Sarfaraz Hussain Shah!


Publication of Competition Entries

Selected entries from the 2010/2011 Writing Competition, based on the lessons learnt from the life and teachings of Imam Hussain (a.s.), were published. The book entitled 'The Legacy of Syed ul-shuhada (a.s.)' is now available to read online.


Youth Summer Camp 2011

A boys' camp for ages 16-25 was held in Peterborough after the success of the first camp in 2009. Inspiring scholars and lecturers imparted their knowledge on a range of topics and the boys also enjoyed a field trip to Ferry Meadows.
