Trip for Girls, June 2012
Islamic Thought
organised a three-week educational trip to Iran
for sisters who are university students or
professionals. The itinerary included visits to
Tehran, Qom and Mashhad.

Competition Results
Islamic Thought held
its 2nd Annual Youth Writing Competition in
Muharram 1433 AH. Congratulations to all who
participated. Selected entries will be published
soon on the website. The winners are: 1st -
Syeda Zahra (Canada),
2nd - Shabana Walji (UK),
3rd - Ibad Zaidi (Canada).

Zainab (a.s.) Weekend Workshop
A 2-day workshop for girls was held at Husaini Islamic
Centre, Peterborough on 31st December 2011 and 1st
January 2012. By the grace of Allah, the event was a huge
success. The girls benefited greatly from the inspiring
lectures, group activities and azadari programme.

Competition Muharram 2010
The winners of the 1st Writing Competition for youth were
announced. Congratulations to Rumina Hassan, Shabana Walji
and Sarfaraz Hussain Shah!

Publication
of Competition Entries
Selected entries from the 2010/2011 Writing Competition,
based on the lessons learnt from the life and teachings of
Imam Hussain (a.s.), were published. The book entitled
'The Legacy of Syed
ul-shuhada (a.s.)' is now available to read online.

Youth
Summer Camp 2011
A boys' camp for ages 16-25 was held in Peterborough after
the success of the first camp in 2009. Inspiring scholars
and lecturers imparted their knowledge on a range of
topics and the boys also enjoyed a field trip to Ferry
Meadows.
