Writing Competition Muharram 2011

Islamic Thought held its 2nd Annual Writing Competition for youth in Muharram 1433 AH. The deadline has now passed and all entries are in the process of being judged. The results will be announced soon by email to all participants and on the website.

New English Nahjul Balagha Publication

Islamic Thought recently published an English translation of Nahjul Balagha, from a collection of present English translations. The numbering of the sections are according to the Urdu translation by Mufti Jafar Hussain Marhoom. The book will be for sale soon in our online bookstore.

Lady Zainab (a.s.) Weekend Workshop

A 2-day workshop for girls was held at Husaini Islamic Centre,  Peterborough on 31st December 2011 and 1st January 2012. By the grace of Allah, the event was a huge success. The girls benefited greatly from the inspiring lectures, group activities and azadari programme.

Publication of Competition Entries

Selected entries from the 2010/2011 Writing Competition, based on the lessons learnt from the life and teachings of Imam Hussain (a.s.), were published. The book entitled 'The Legacy of Syed ul-shuhada (a.s.)' is now available to read online.

Youth Summer Camp 2011

A boys' camp for ages 16-25 was held in Peterborough after the success of the first camp in 2009. Inspiring scholars and lecturers imparted their knowledge on a range of topics and the boys also enjoyed a field trip to Ferry Meadows.
